Les Mitton
Leston Holdings was founded in 1980 by Les Mitton. After spending years traveling across Canada and the United States, working on large scale property management, development and construction projects Les decided to plant stronger roots in Edmonton where his young family was just beginning to grow. Les ventured out on his own with the acquisition of a single piece of land, located on the North edge of Edmonton’s downtown core. Through years of hard work and dedication, Les expanded the company’s portfolio to include numerous multi-family residential and commercial holdings. In 2005, Les entrusted the responsibility of the company to his son, David Mitton, and daughter, Dinika Matychuk in favour of settling into a slower pace of life. Never one to sit still, even at a distance, Les remained devoted to the company and offered steadfast guidance to David and Dinika as Leston Holdings further evolved into the strongly rooted, community oriented company that it is today.

It is the mission of Leston Holdings (1980) Ltd. to own and operate a high quality real estate portfolio. We are a family owned company that values business integrity. Our growth will be achieved by continuing to respect the vendors from whom we purchase real estate and by adding intrinsic value to the real estate acquired. All real estate developments or acquisitions will honor the land and respect the wishes of the community. It is more important to us to be the best landlord not the biggest.

founders
David Mitton
David developed a passion for real estate from his father, Les Mitton. At the age of 21, under Les’ guidance, David took the lead on the acquisition of his first apartment building. David quickly proved his aptitude for real estate development and continues to maintain a very hands-on approach in regard to all aspects of Leston Holding’s acquisitions, financing and renovations projects. Over the last 20 years, David has become an industry leader in identifying and capitalizing on value-add real estate opportunities. With the addition of each new property, David takes great pride in knowing that the Leston banner will be displayed and that it represents quality, prestige and value. Maintaining a healthy work-life balance is important to David. Outside of work he always makes time for family, friends and fitness.

Dinika Matychuk
Dinika started her career at Leston Holdings at the young age of 8. Her first job was sitting next to her dad, Les Mitton, opening mail and addressing envelopes. While attending University, Dinika continued to work for the company and took pride in learning all aspects of the business. After graduating from the University of Alberta, Dinika made a lasting commitment to the company, took on a senior role and has enjoyed working with David ever since. Dinika has worked hard to establish Leston’s corporate governance, and has assembled the framework for the property management and maintenance departments. Through strategic decision making, she guides senior management in their implementation of new policies and procedures that make Leston Holdings one of the top private-sector property management companies in Edmonton. Now married with four young children, Dinika continues to play a key role in the day to day operations and growth of the company.
